Last Day

It was so sad saying goodbye to my wonderful class yesterday. I couldn't stop the tears! Thanks for all the generous presents - I feel spoilt!

Merry Christmas, and have a safe, healthy and fun summer.

E-mail to Mr Shearer (principal) from Tash's coach

Dear Mr Shearer

My name is ****** and I am the coach of the Stoke Nayland Bulldogs Basketball Team. This team is made up of year 7 and 8 Broadgreen Intermedaite girls and 1Year 7 Waimea Intermediate pupil(Tash).

This team was made up of surplus players from the two Intermedaites.
Tash was the only Waimea girl ,she attended every training ,listened and did everything I asked of her.
Tash was a valuable member of our team. She encouraged her fellow players( this was even more extraordinary considering she knew none of them at the start of the season) and played every game with full committment and dedication.

Without Tash we would not have won the Divison Two Competition final last night.

Tash is a credit to herself and a great ambassador for her school.I wish her well with next season and whatever team she decides to play for.

Yours Sincerely
********* (Coach's name)

The Nelson Suburbs “Vipers” won the 12th Grade shield at the NZ Junior Football Clubs Cup at Taupo this weekend.
What an achievement for these guys!
They all received a medal and everyone who witnessed their victory will remember it forever. They won their final game against Taupo 7 – nil. AWESOME.

Brannen's Descriptive Writing

As lava flows its light will glow, and when the animals suffer they talk to each other. Their last seconds of life is the edge of a knife. As the fire reaches them it engulfs them in flames.Just one more life that has beem claimed.

Hope's Poem

The Ocean

Aqua waves are like flowing koru creeping towards the sand.

Golden sand is like shattered glass sparkling on the ground.

Speeding boats are gleaming pearls bobbing on the calm water.

Fluorescent coral is like underwater rainbow trees sitting amongst the clear water.

Slimy seaweed is like a grey eel wriggling through the smooth rocks.

Ragged rocks are like sharp ice cutting at my feet.

Dainty creatures are like small feathers drifting through the wind.

Warm sand dunes remind me of my puffy cushions gathered on my bed.

Sophie's Poem

The Beach

Crashing waves are like the cold sea’s fury, waiting to push surfers off their boards.
Slimy seaweed tickles my fingers, like little wriggling worms in the dirt.
Pretty sea shells scattered on the glistening beach are like shining stars resting in the night sky.
Prickly little crab pinches are as spikey as a stone fish piercing my hands as I search for more.
Little feathery clouds are like soft fluffy towels from a faraway land like Heaven.

Daisy's Poem

The Wonders of Spring

Beautiful flowers are like Mum’s perfume brightening the world.
New-born lambs are like little feathers, basking in the sunlight.
Flying birds are like flowing rivers, soaring through the air.
Green grass reminds me of Grandma’s shirt welcoming the new season.
Warmish water is like dripping showers heating the day.
Blue skies are like smooth seas, smiling at everyone.
The blazing sun reminds me of friends laughing, enjoying each other’s company.
Exciting swims are like pouring waterfalls, splashing the day away.
